The Raven:
From the ground below there's sign of war
Searching for signs of gore
The raven soars above our heads
We know the battle has ended.
Few by few we gather for the site
The fate we know is impending
Finding the world around us in fright
While we wait for our signal to attack
Knowing that the raven has our back
For we know the battle has ended.
Our soldiers step one by one
Into the raging tsunami and tide of battle without hesitation
Out into the waves they go, a Lilly pad into a torrenting river.
Gore, rage, fear, and death feel like a fever
Engulfing the body of what once were innocent soldiers
Yet calmly they advance towards the final destination
The raven leads while the foes below wither
As the final blade strikes the battle sounds stop
But this was not just an ounce of luck.
Looking up into the blood stained sky.
The raven still soars high.

End-notes:
Poems are a huge influence in my writing. I love the flow of words in the style, and it sounds almost like music when the tonality is put into speaking one. For this I felt it related to a main goddess that is both relative in Celtic mythology as a trinity, to Christianity, which has Jesus resembling the father, son, and the holy spirit( Stefon).
